Raid Loot Rules
T H E S Y S T E M

There will be a Need phase and a Greed phase, followed by a Shard phase:
  1. Need Phase
    1. Those who wish to roll Need will roll. You can roll need if:
      1. It's your type of armor (leather for rogues, cloth for mages, etc.).
      2. You meet any class restrictions for the item, including "intended" class restrictions, such as the Dungeon 3 set pieces
    2. You haven't won a need-based item yet (unless everyone else rolling has also won one).
      1. You can choose not to roll Need and save your Need roll for later, even if you are the only one eligible to roll.
      2. If only one person rolls, s/he wins by default.
      3. If two or more people roll, the highest roll wins.

  2. Greed Phase
    1. If nobody has rolled Need, the Raid Leader will call for any Greed rolls. You can roll Greed if:
      1. You can use the item (this means pallies can roll on cloth, etc.)
      2. You meet any class restrictions for the item, except that you can roll cross-spec on items like the Dungeon 3 set.
      3. You haven't won a Greed-based item (unless everyone else rolling has also won one, or no one else rolls).
    2. As usual, you can choose not to roll.
    3. If only one person rolls, s/he wins by default.
    4. If two or more people roll Greed, the highest roll wins.

  3. If no one rolls Need or Greed, the item is held (BoE items) or sharded and the shard/item is sent to the guild bank at the end of the run.

The following types of items will have their own rolls that will not DQ you from winning something in the other Pools:
- Crafting items (Primal Nethers, special leathers, etc.)

E X A M P L E S
1) The Hallowed Crown (Priest Dungeon 3 headpiece) drops as the first item. Only Priests will be allowed to roll Need. If all the priests pass, then it opens to a Greed roll where anyone can roll (since it's cloth, everyone can wear it). Sensibly, those folks who would benefit from the stats should be the only ones rolling here, but you can roll if you have an interest in the item.

2) Raid has one Warrior and two feral Druids. Both Druids have rolled Need on leather pieces earlier in the run. A great +Stamina/+Strength cape drops. All three would normally be eligible; however, since the Warrior hasn't won any Need items than each Druid, neither Druid is in the Need Pool.

3) The Gloves of the Fallen Champion (Tier 4 token for pallies/rogues/shaman) drops. Any of the pallies, rogues, and shaman who had not yet won a Need item could roll Need. If everyone passed, anyone could roll Greed on the item (including those pallies, rogues, and shaman who had already won a Need item, provided they hadn't won a Greed item). If no one rolled Greed, it would rot.

4) The Hakkari Warblades drop. Anyone who can use the item (including both Hunters and Rogues) and hadn't won a Need item can roll Need. If no one rolls, then anyone who hadn't won a Greed item and could use it could roll, and so on.
