JadedpunkParticipantGood to see you in game again. At least Demon Hunters are fun. I’m still irked by the 4 button class mechanic mentality… nothing seems unique anymore. I’ve got level 100 priest, hunter, warlock, shaman, paladin, rogue, mage, warrior, and demon hunter. I’m not sure what I’ll level up as my main in Legion…leaning mage because I’m addicted to portals.
JadedpunkParticipantHonestly…they gutted every class, took away even more abilities, and decreased the max zoom of the camera. Classes are barren. Remember hunters? Yeah…no more aspect of the cheetah (as we know it at least.) I’m not sure Blizzard has anyone in charge. Its almost like they WANT to kill wow. Since the new patch dropped 2 days ago, my enjoyment of the game went from a 2 of 10 to about .000001 of 10. They raised the gold cap..and I’m capped again lol.

JadedpunkParticipantWith the rate at which Blizzard is hemorrhaging customers, the next expansion looks bleak. Hell, even I’m considering cancelling…and I have NEVER cancelled since Feb 2005. (and no Orc statue….damn you blizz, damn you)
JadedpunkParticipantThis looks like fun…of course WOD looked like fun on paper. I’m pessimistic about Blizzard’s direction. They proved with the second quarter profit report that they can make a profit AND lose 5.6 million subscribers. WOW is no longer the Cadillac at the dealership. They are purposefully going with a model that increases profit margins over player enjoyment because the company just proved that diehards will keep paying and they have profits elsewhere.
Sadly, Blizzard was the only wow killer to ever come on the market, and they are okay with it. I’m actually saddened by the direction they are going. The corporate juggernaut has replaced the company created by gamers, for gamers, that brought us all the great games.
The minute Bashiok quit, I knew the ship was sinking and could not be repaired.

JadedpunkParticipantI’ll wait until some of the “newness” wears off the Jungle. I’m not keen on fighting morons for mobs or watching 12 year olds train mobs at me. And I’m completely underwhelmed by the shipyards. I was so excited, and ultimately just another Bluzzard let down. (Blizzard + Blunder = Bluzzard)
I also loathe the nerf to Big Crates, one of the only things I enjoyed about this expansion was that “Christmas morning” feeling every time you opened a box of shiny. I’ve got a few epics and some greens no longer in game (Scarlet set pieces.) I understand the nerf to gold missions, but they even managed to fudge that up.
Overall this expansion is but a fleeting death rattle of a once great game. I play a few minutes a day just to update my “facebook” garrison game. My favorite component of the game has been professions and making gold, since I quit raiding in Cata. Bluzzard took that away too. The gutting of professions is one of the most asinine things that has happened to WoW. I saw a wonderful quote on the forums, which I frequent, that summed up WoD very accurately:
If it ain’t broke, fix it until it is.
Things I still enjoy in WoW:
1. making gold (though it isnt as fun as it was)
2. pet battles (judge not, lest ye be judged)
3. logging offThings I miss:
1. Professions (including archeology, too cumbersome on a ground mount.)
2. Flying at max level without having to jump through hoops. (I dont quest. I have leveled tons of alts through archeology and profession dailies)
3. Meaningful world events that change. (I mean come on…Midsummer is the SAME it has been for years…)
4. Helpful community (not the toxic tweens we have now)
5. Server community (CRZ killed that, as did LFG and LFR)I’ve been steadily subscribed since Feb 2005, not a lapse. I’ve led guilds (Demise, NbN, Shadowalkers, Necronomicon, Dark Nemesis, Corporate Greed) I’ve raided end game and pushed for server firsts (NbN, Disposable Heroes, Easy Company) and I’ve enjoyed my 10+ years. I’ll wait and see what the next expac brings, but unless they revert to a WotLK or BC style of expac, I’m done. And I have enough gold to play for free until my 4 year old son is driving, and I will still cancel.
Oh yeah, this was about The Jungle. I tend to get on Dennis Milleresque style rants from time to time.

For that matter, lets just say that JP almost always forgot to dismiss his pet whenever he jumped from a ledge anywhere. Sometimes on purpose (take THAT Mr. Tank…), sometimes for giggles, and sometimes because sobriety isn’t easy.
